“A GOOD MORNING” RESPITE CARE PROGRAM

 A Good Morning will provide care for those with Alzheimer’s and Dementia and respite for their caregivers.

 There will be dedicated and trained volunteers operating the program.  Participants can enjoy fellowship, a morning snack, lunch and activities while caregivers enjoy several hours of respite.

 For more information or to schedule an interview, please contact the Administrative Coordinator, Jan Carter (after 3 p.m. ) at 766-2767 or the Program Coordinator, Patti Mears at 795-3102 .  Interviews will be held on Mondays and Thursdays from 3:15 to 5:00 p.m. The cost will be $15.00 per session.  

Well, we’re now over one year into our program, and if we say so ourselves, we’re doing pretty good.  There are now six active participants (with the welcome addition of up to a total of ten participants).  With the additional participants, we really are in need of additional volunteers.  Please consider helping where you can….working with participants (training is provided), making a meal occasionally, helping with community outreach.  Trust us, we can find something for you to do!  To those of you that donated items for our craft projects, thank you.  We’re always looking for odds-and-ends: buttons, beads, artificial flowers…if you have it, we can probably find a use for it.  Please keep us in mind before you throw those odd bits of stuff away.  We are excited to have started an Alzheimer’s Caregivers Support group that meets every second Tuesday of the month at 6 PM at the church.
