- WELCA Fall Sale Prayer Shawls – WELCA members
are crocheting or knitting prayer shawls.
We will continue this as an on-going project.
The shawls will be given to wrap, enfold, comfort, cover and give
solace to shut-ins. If you do
not crochet or knit, you can be part of this project by purchasing a
shawl. WELCA Fall Sale – Please keep in mind that any items that you might
want to get rid of – donating them to our WELCA 2010 Fall Sale would be
very helpful. If you have any
items that you don’t have the space to store, contact Connie Gibson at
762-0317. WELCA Convention Project - WELCA is collecting baby items for Prenatal Health Kits for the SC WELCA Convention Project 2010. The kits will benefit mothers in the Perinatal Awareness for Successful Outcomes (PASO) program. This program works to optimize maternal and child health among the growing Latino population in our state. The population is low-income and often have very little support other than PASO. They are taught how to have healthy babies, health nutrition, newborn care and responsibilities as new mothers. The mothers are given these kits upon graduating from a 14-hour course. The recommended items: newborn outfit, baby blanket, baby shampoo or wash, diaper cream, baby washcloths, booties and hat. If you can donate any of these items, please place them in the basket located in the Narthex. Thank you for you support.
